About

My Story

My path to this work began in Los Angeles, where teenage bullying led me right into an emotionally abusive marriage. I turned to drinking as a coping mechanism and, by my late 30s, I found myself at a crossroads—unable to live with alcohol, yet terrified to live without it.

Getting sober became my first step toward true awakening. As the fog lifted, I learned to face life's challenges without anesthetizing myself. Raw authenticity showed me an inner strength I never knew I had.

While sitting with rejection during a devastating break up, a friend brought me to a couple’s yoga class. It was there, held safely in the presence of a compassionate witness, that I first began to unravel the threads of deeper trauma.

This experience launched me into my journey with yoga, Reiki and nervous system work and life continued to offer profound lessons. The loss of my dear brother led me to discover the power of ceremony, honoring the sacred cycles of life, death, and renewal.

Each challenge became an invitation to grow, to understand trauma's impact on the body, and to develop genuine compassion for all versions of myself.

As I developed as a facilitator and expanded my training, I started weaving Somatic Experiencing®, restorative yoga, energy work, and ceremony to create the healing containers my former self needed. I also integrated my whole being into my work, allowing my story with addiction and abuse to guide my hand and heart.

As a Latina woman in long-term recovery, I bring a unique perspective to this work. My approach combines nurturing presence with practical tools. I truly see each of my clients as "mija" (my daughter), helping them navigate trauma, recovery, and life’s big initiations.

Today, my mission is to help women turn inward, connect with their hearts, and untangle from old patterns, creating space for hope, healing and the reclamation of true self.

I am deeply moved by the archetypes of the wild woman and the legend of La Loba—the Wolf Woman—as told by Jungian psychoanalyst Clarissa Pinkola Estes. La Loba lives in the desert collecting bones. When she finds all the bones of a wolf, she assembles them and sings over them until the wolf comes back to life, transforms into a laughing woman and runs free toward the horizon.

This story, as my work, is a call to all women to reclaim their wild nature—to bravely and ceremonially collect what remains of their animal body (their soma), and liberate themselves from all that they are not.

My Approach

Pillars of Sacred Homecoming

Soma

Through restorative yoga and Somatic Experiencing®, I create sacred containers where your nervous system can find safety and peace. In the presence of compassionate witness, you'll learn to slow down, feel deeply, and trust your body's innate wisdom. This is where healing begins—in the quiet moments of being truly held.

Energy work and Reiki create bridges between our physical and spiritual selves, helping you connect with your subtle body and inner guidance. By clearing energetic blocks and old patterns, we open doorways to deeper understanding and allow your natural vitality to flow freely once again.

Spirit

In honoring life's natural cycles of birth, death, and renewal, we participate in humanity's oldest medicine. Through ceremony and ritual, we mark transitions, celebrate milestones, and enter into sacred relationship with life itself. Here, we remember that our struggles and triumphs are part of an ancient and universal dance.

Ceremony

True healing isn't about becoming someone—it's about reclaiming the parts of yourself that were lost along the way. Through our work, you'll learn to embrace your story, integrating shadow and light into a whole and authentic self. This is the ultimate homecoming: returning to your untamed, natural state of being.

  • Rita always says, North County is a slice of heaven that brings healing to people who land here and boy has she done just that for me. After one session I told her I wanted more and I continue to meet with her routinely to actively pursue personal and professional growth. She is instilling me with guidance and support to be a better person for my family, community and colleagues.

  • Master of holding space for people to soften and be seen! Rita guides people into a deep relaxation so they can release blocks and walls they have up so they may show up in the world as their true selves!

  • Rita's sessions are a combination of various restorative yoga postures and wellness techniques that create an experience that facilitates deep connection and healing. You come in thinking you are there for one thing and leave a better, more connected version of yourself. It's an experience of presence, letting go and reconnecting to self.

  • Rita reminds us to pause, to be willing to put aside whatever mental story we think needs immediate resolution. to allow fluidity to become our second nature.
